In 2002 I had the opportunity to
attend a major league baseball game with family for the first
time. It was going to be The Seattle Mariners vs. the Kansas
city Royals in Seattle but due to the baseball strike the game
was nearly cancelled. It was not until the morning of game day
that the players had reached an agreement. So after arriving at
Safeco Field and taking in all the sights and sounds of the
park, my dad and I decided to try getting an autograph. We went
down to the dugout and not long after, Bret Boone(My Favorite
Player at the time) came to sign autographs. Soon I had my
baseball autographed! We then went and found our seats in the
nosebleed section behind home plate where we watched the game.
Bret Boone hit a solo homerun in the game but the Mariners would
lose 5 to 1. Later in our hotel room, my dad turned on the news
and the first thing we saw was Video footage of Bret Boone
signing my baseball! |
